According to the World Corrosion Organization, the annual global damage caused by corrosion is estimated at around €1.9 billion. € p.a.

Using the patented plasma spray coating system of INOCON Technologie GmbH, it is possible to deposit anti-corrosion coatings on metallic components under atmospheric conditions. A typical example of conventional metallic coatings are local or large-scale zinc coatings that can be applied with a coat thickness of a few µm.

An interesting alternative to these are organic protective coatings based on nanotechnology with precursors containing Si that give the component a siliceous nano seal. Due to the clean, green coating process, no other safety concepts are required apart from a simple extraction process. Furthermore, the patented coating technology can be optimally integrated into existing plant due to the low cycle times and large coating width.
